Sahar Abdallah

Sahar Abdallah; Sahar Abdallah is an award winning Egyptian illustrator who often draws inspiration from her cat. She wrote and illustrated “The Stories of Fanoon”, published by Dar Elias, 2014, “I Found a House.. Toot the Flea”, published by Al Maktaba Al Arabya, both shortlisted for the Sheikh Zayed Award. Her third book “Life is Love not War” was published by Dar Al Banan in 2017. She held three solo exhibitions in Cairo: “Tales and Children” in 2009, “A Painting and a Tale” in 2012 and “Scratches” in 2014. In 2018 she held her first exhibition in Toronto, Canada “Visual Poems”. She also participated in the exhibition of the Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival and in the illustrators’ corner of the Abu Dhabi Book Fair in 2017, and the children's illustration exhibition in Toronto in 2018-2019. AbdAllah received the state award in 2012 and in 2017 she was shortlisted for the Mahmoud Kuhail and Arabi 21 awards. She won the Etisalat award for Children’s Literature - for illustration - in 2018.
